What wood should you pick? Teak vs walnut vs sheesham
By Areeba Parveen, Maison Areeba · Published · Updated

Teak loves water and lasts. Walnut is warm and dark, shows grain beautifully. Sheesham is strong for curves, great for round beds and arches. We also work with mango, pine and oak - you choose what fits your home.
Teak loves water and lasts for decades. Walnut is warm and dark, and shows its grain beautifully. Sheesham is strong enough for curves, which is why it's our wood for round beds and arches.
We also work with mango, pine and oak. Tell us about your room's light and we'll suggest what suits it.
Rules of thumb we share with customers: choose teak for balconies, humid cities and anything that sees water; walnut for bedrooms and living rooms where you want depth of colour; sheesham when the design has curves or carved detail; oak and pine when you want a lighter, Scandinavian feel.
